The prompt for day 11 is something that people tend to compliment you on

You are reading it.  Not just Vizionz per se, but my ability to say what is on my mind.

We live in a world of political correctness and we’ve lost the ability to just say what it is that we think. While it is true that not everything needs to be said, and it need not always be said by me….. the fact that I take the time to say things that others are thinking gets me complimented.

It is both a blessing and a curse speaking frankly.

It is polarizing. People either love you for it or hate you for it and it leaves little to no room for error.

It gives you a certain reputation where people expect you to tilt at every windmill out there. It is rarely considered that you have other things to do, or shock of all shocks, you might feel differently about a topic than they do.

It reveals who’s real and who’s not in your life. If you can be consistent, which I attempt to be always, when you call your ‘people’ out on their own bullshit in the same fashion you call out a stranger they feel some kind of way.  It doesn’t matter that you are right, you are not allowed to be right – in public – with them – even though you’ve got all the receipts.

It can earn you a fan club that you might not really want.

Oh don’t get me wrong constant reader….a portion of why Vizionz exists is because I love the interaction with and appreciation from YOU.

What I don’t always want though is a collection of people expecting me to behave in a particular fashion because I shared a thought that was similar to theirs once upon a time.

Even though I give you a lot of me here…..this is not all of me.  It feels weird to me at times to hear that I am admired for what I write here….when it is such a smallish portion of Aphrodite/Nicole.

Every once in a while though I get to make a difference. I get to link people to information.  I get to link people to other people.  I get to help. On occasion that good deed gets punished, but that is ok…. I am gonna keep on rolling.

The bigger picture outweighs my personal discomfort….and I thank you for being the bigger picture.
