I got to try my hand at a little humor this week.  I don’t know if I’m funny, but I did enjoy the writing.

Cradle to the Grave

My other blog this week was an opportunity to take a common misconception and share a little common sense.  I’ve personally been involved with a bisexual man and it was a pretty good relationship.  Our needs didn’t meet, and that happens sometimes, there is no harm in that.  I never feared though that his sexuality would cause him to step out on me.

I trusted in the person that he was, and his commitment to who WE were, and because of that I didn’t live in fear that when I was out of sight he would pursue other men.

That is an outlook that so many women – especially Black women – seem  unable to embrace and that is painful to me.

Myth:  Bisexual men are the primary cause of the spread of HIV in the Black community.

Men like this are the primary cause of the spread of HIV in the Black community.

This photo is rapper Shorty Lo and all his baby mamas.  This man has fathered 11 children with 10 different women.

There is also this man:

That is Desmond Hatchett, 34 year old Tennessee resident who has fathered at least 30 children with 11 different women.

That is the type of risky sexual behavior that is most likely to expose you to HIV, not a responsible bisexual partner who uses safer sex practices.

That is in part why I wrote this piece

CAN A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOMEONE OF BISEXUAL ORIENTATION WORK?
